ROAD CROSSING
We first reported on your request for a pedestrian crossing outside Bahia Blanca in 2007. Well the good news is, that it has been built. With the improved road layout and now the crossing with traffic lights, it has made this section of road much safer for pedestrians and motorists. A new pavement with railings has also been built leading from Bahia Blanca to the pedestrian crossing. So you now have pavements on both sides of the road. Walking to either Amadores beach or Puerto Rico is now just a leisurely stroll in either direction. Following your petition which was acted upon, we have written to the Mayor on our guests' behalf thanking him for the work which has been done. Now that the pedestrian crossing has been built we hope you will use it, as traffic moves fast along this coast road and the crossing has now made it so much safer. |

RESTAURANT
We have for sometime wanted to refurbish the restaurant and with Alberto firmly established as the head chef in the kitchen, we have found time to do it. You will notice the new modern designed chairs and tables plus the new crockery which we are now serving all the meals on. It took us some time to find the right furniture and crockery at exhibitions, but we eventually found what we wanted and took delivery of the furniture from Portugal and the crockery from the UK. The new menu continues to have many old favorites, however Alberto has added further dishes concentrating on using local produce from the island. A popular addition is the fixed price daily 3 course menu which won't break the bank. |

POOL SIDE CAFE
Breakfast is still being served from 8.30am, but we have moved this service to the swimming pool cafe. A full choice is still available with coffee, tea and fruit juice and either a full English or Continental style breakfast. |

SWIMMING POOL
One of the first things you will notice on your next visit to Bahia Blanca is the new swimming pool Ramp. Following requests from members for easier access to the pool, we have had a non-slip ramp fitted with a hand rail and placed it alongside the children's pool. The normal swimming pool steps are still in place around the pool, but the new ramp allows you to walk directly into the pool. It also enables access by wheel chair for those with walking disabilities. |

APARTMENT REFURBISHMENT
Many of you will have stayed in the refurbished apartments and we are certain you have appreciated the high quality of construction. Ignacio and his team are responsible for refurbishing all the apartments throughout the resort. Refurbishment takes about three months to complete each apartment.
If you view the resort from a distance at night, you will be able to spot the refurbished apartments as these are all lit by blue lights. You will see we still have some way to go, but we are steadily getting through them. |

FUNICULAR LIFT
We reported that the lift it its first 9 months, travelled 10,000 km’s (6000 miles) Bahia Blanca to Central India. So for fun we have downloaded the computer system report again and was staggered to find that from when it was installed up until March 1st 2009 it has travelled 30,000 km’s (18000 miles) We therefore have worked out that if you had been on board and it had been able to travel across the globe, you will have so far reached Denver – Colorado. |

WI-FI HOTSPOTS
For you techno phobes – Wi-Fi Hotspot is not Bahia Blanca’s new pole dancing club. For those in the know, you are now able to link to the internet from around the pool or in the café. The hotspot covers this area, so if you want your own internet access, please bring your laptop. |
